A Cultural & Political Approach

The primary purpose of the Movement for Beauty & Justice is to promote a core philosophy that everyone can practice that we believe will enrich peoples lives and lead to a more just and happy society.

We emphasize the importance of practicing our philosophy in both social and political contexts at the local, national, and global level. Through projects, campaigns, and events, we seek to influence individual lifestyle choices and social values at the local level and demonstrate the connection between beauty and justice. Our academic research, intellectual inquiry, and dialogue with governmental officials and organizations informs our philosophy, writings, and alternative political structure.

In adopting beauty as a core value to promote a more just society and to become personally more fulfilled, we seek to continually incorporate beauty into our lives.To this end, The Movement for Beauty & Justice:

* conducts regular events to create time and space for individuals to observe, experience or create something beautiful.

* facilitates interaction between individuals who normally do not have the opportunity to share beauty by opening forums and events to the public.

* encourages local and national governments to create public programs that promote and contribute to making our cities, countries, and world more beautiful.

In promoting the experience of beauty as a shared goal, we hope that every individual will be influenced to exercise their ability to find personal fulfillment and to act with a sense of collective responsibility and, in doing so, contribute to a more just society. To this end, The Movement for Beauty & Justice:

* organizes events to create and share beauty as a collective experience.

* seeks practical solutions to alleviate social injustice so that all human beings may enjoy the beauty of living.

* concentrates our collective energies on projects in the area of social and environmental justice conducted independently and with partner organizations and NGOs to further our goal of a more just society.
